Fri 3 June - card, Abbaye, Sequence, GPS holder, battery, cassette, carnival, rain

After some overnight rain and petit thunder, we woke again in the van. When we got home last night, we started searching for Rita's credit card, with no luck. We then started re-tracing where she might have used it, and concluded that the last place she remembered using it was at Intermarche in Castelsarrasin yesterday, while I was in BricoMarche buying some buckets and a GPS holder for the campervan windscreen. So early this morning she phoned them to ask if any credit cards had been found at one of the checkouts. And luckily, they had found it yesterday and tried contacting her via the issuing bank. But because we were on the road, they couldn't find us. So later that morning, Rita went across to Intermarche and re-claimed the card. Many sighs of relief!

We then went into Moissac and had a look around to see what had changed, before settling down for coffee and croissants at a cafe in the Square near the Abbaye. They served good quality coffee!

We then went over to the Plunkett's to return the campervan power cable they had loaned us, and to have another coffee and a chat. While we were there, they got us interested in playing the boardgame of Sequence. While we had not much idea of what we were doing, we were lucky to manage to win two games straight, before they called it quits for the day!

One interesting thing at the cafe was that they had a QR code on the table which you could scan with your phone to see the menu. Saves printing new menus every time the menu changes. I guess the next thing will be that you will be able to order items directly from the digital menu and have it brought to your table!

I described to John the emergency starter battery that I had bought in Moissac a couple of years ago, and he expressed an interest in getting one. So I went out to the Auto Parts store where I bought mine, and found one for sale. However, although there were two lines at the checkout, and I was next in line, the servers at the front of both queues spent the next 40 minutes trying to answer questions that people at the head of the queue had about some technical specifications. As lunch time was approaching, I decided that enough was enough, so I put the item back on the shelf and left the store.

During the afternoon, I learnt how to empty the grey water tank and the toilet cassette at the camper Aire. As night approached, we heard the doof-doof music starting up at the Carnival just down the road. However, as (good) luck would have it, heavy rain started just 15 minutes later, and so the music and the Carnival was shut down for the night.
