Sunday 11 August - Rallye du Chasselas, Lou Hays, Le Piglet

Another bright sunny day. Woken early by the sound of loud, revving engines along the quai. Thought it was just the local lads again, but after it went on for over an hour, I decided to go investigate and found that it was a queue of rally cars waiting their turn to move down to the Uvarium area. Further investigation found about 100 rally cars parked in and moving around the area. Apparently they are here for the Rallye du Chasselas, taking place this weekend in the Tarn-et-Garonne region.

While down near the Tarn, I dropped in to say hello at Vertrouwen, and met up with another of the partners, Lou Hays. He is here with his wife, daughter and grand-daughter. Spent an hour or more chatting with him – a very pleasant fellow. Returned to the boat and spent the afternoon finishing The Rainmaker – a very interesting, yet funny, account of a new lawyer’s first venture into the courtroom. Peter and Amanda came back into port in the afternoon, and wasted no time hosting a party on-board Le Piglet in the evening. They were still going strong when I went to bed around 11pm.
