Sun 17 Sept - early rise, dark, Exupery, transition report, Sarah, RWC Fiji

It was a very early morning rise in the dark, and we started the trip to St Exupery airport in Lyon at 0615h. It was a relatively simple trip, which gave us the chance to catch up on anything we had not talked about in the past few days. I dropped them off at 0815h, and then turned around and headed back to Dole, arriving at 1015h. I spent the rest of the morning reading the Forestry Transition Context Report, and then started on a new novel "The Death of John Lacey". During the afternoon, Sarah arrived from Besain, and then she and Rita headed off for a swim in the River Doubs, while I watched the Rugby World Cup game between Australia and Fiji. It brought back memories of the last World Cup in France in 2007, when we went to see Australia play Fiji at Montpelier. The only thing different this time was that Fiji won 22-15, beating Australia for the first time in a World Cup game. This will make it very difficult for Australia to qualify for the knock-out games, as they have yet to play Wales, the favourites in this round-robin group. After dinner on the rear-deck, Sarah headed back to Besain, while we settled down for our last night in Dole.
