Tues 7 June - sleep in, leave Puycornet, Aire, Coussans, Phil&Terrie, chat

After last night's late arrival home, we had a bit of a sleep-in, and missed seeing Nico, who was off to work early. So we had a relaxed breakfast with Miyu and the three boys, and then a look around Nico's ongoing work on the new house. Covid and other work pressures have slowed down progress a bit over the past year, but it is still moving towards completion.

After much procrastination, and a look around other parts of the property, we finally said goodbye to Miyu and the boys in the late morning. Even two of the roosters came out to say goodbye from the tree as we took the two vehicles up the driveway.

We drove to the Moissac Aire where we had lunch and then emptied the grey and black water from the van, and then headed on to Coussans, near Mermande, where we were meeting up with Phil and Terrie Chatfield (long time barging friends). Luckily their side yard contains a couple of camping car spots, so we pulled the van in there. After an initial chat, Rita went for a swim with Terrie in their pool, while Phil and I discussed the state of the world on the pool deck. We then walked down to the River Garonne, which had flooded since we had last seen them, and then back home for dinner and more chatting till 0030h. We then retreated to Vanumbra for a good night's sleep.
