Thur 9 June - coffee with Catherine, gallery, Rob and Cherie, more music

We arranged to meet Catherine Mayoly, who sang with Dindi Moon in 2018, for morning coffee at Le Moulin hotel, and had a great time swapping yarns and learning what each of us has been up to over the past few years. Covid was a major problem for Catherine as she had to cease all her work with the choirs and with her private singing lessons for clients. And on top of that, the River Garonne floods played havoc with their local area. So she is looking forward to better times.

After chatting with Catherine for a few hours, we walked into Moissac, and on the way home we popped into the old Eglise Saint-Jacques, where an art exhibit was being displayed. As we were looking around, we bumped into Susie and her daughter. So while Rita was chatting with them, I looked around the rest of the gallery.

As we walked back to the Aire for lunch, we noticed that the window shades at Rob and Cherie Mitchell's house near the double-lock were open. So after lunch we went up and knocked on their door, and had a good catch-up. They are the Australian co-owners of barge Rovi, and bought their little house a couple of years ago before Covid, and had Nico and Iain and Kaz Noble do a few renovations during Covid. They are really starting to make it a home, and will now probably spend more time in the house than on the barge when they are in France.

in the late-afternoon, Rita had another meeting with her Moissac music friends.
