Mon 1 Aug - PnP, wasps, insurance, light rain, book Jura camper park, read/blog

Rita and I were both waiting for the start of this special first day of the month, given that it was the Swiss National Day. As a result, we decided to call Pinch'n'Punch a draw as we both tried to catch the other off-guard a few minutes after midnight. Actually it was relief to be able to go to bed and get some sleep!

The morning started coolish, but gradually got warmer during the day. As a result, the population of wasps around and inside the boat increased. Given my experience with a wasp sting last year, we are wary of them. If they are outside, we leave them alone; but if they come inside the wheelhouse and don't leave when asked, they get the fly-swatter treatment.

We had still heard nothing from the insurance company about the mandatory inspection, but given that the rest of the week was forecast to be very hot, we decided that we would use the campervan to get away to the cooler surrounds of the Jura plateau. So, despite some late afternoon light rain trying to convince us to stay in L'Isle sur le Doubs, we made a booking at a camping car campground in the Jura for the next few days. We then went back to our reading and blogging, secure in the knowledge that we could escape the heat of the next few days on the boat.
