Wed 28 Sep - Feu Vert, Bosch C7, Intersport, Sikkens, weedhatch, petanque 6-3-3

This morning we decided to get on our bikes and head off to the suburban shopping centre to the south of the port. First port of call was Feu Vert, where we were lucky to find that they had the Bosch C7 battery trickle charger than Phil had loaned to me yesterday. Our intention is to connect it permanently to the generator battery and use the trickle charge feature to keep it topped up when we are on shore power.

We then headed over to Intersport to look for some things for the bikes, but ended up buying just a couple of phone holders for our handlebars (very useful for following Google Maps while riding) and some "tracky dacks" for me.

After a quick lunch, we were heading home when I saw the name "Sikkens" on the side of a building. I recognised this as the name of the varnish that I use on the boat and so went over to see if that was what it actually was. And yes it was a Sikkens paint store. Unfortunately it was closed for lunch, but since it was only 15 minutes till the end of lunchtime, and we had never seen a Sikkens store before, we decided to wait since the can of Sikkens varnish on the boat was almost empty. And when they opened we found we were lucky that they did indeed have cans of Sikkens Cetol 7+ in stock.

When we got back to the boat, I opened up the weedhatch above the prop, since H2O had said that work needed to be done there. However, it wasn't all that bad and I quickly cleaned some weed and string from around the prop shaft, and then renewed the rubber seals on the bottom of the weedhatch plate.

As evening approached, Rita and I decided to play some petanque in the adjacent park area, and were soon joind by Phil. While the standard of play was not particularly high, we had lots of fun until Kathy brought the game to a halt (with me leading 6-3-3) when she brought out drinks for us to enjoy as the sun set over Effie.
