Saturday 22 Sept - market, shopping, canal walk, dinner, train, desserts

We all went up to the Saturday Market this morning, to do some shopping but also to just absorb the atmosphere. And what better way to do this than to sit and have a coffee while watching the passing parade. While we were there, Ian shot this little video which captures the buzz of the Market, while Flis goes off looking for bargains and I speak to Rita who rang from Dijon to tell me what time her train was arriving tonight.

We then went to do some more shopping, especially for gluten-free products, at Monopole, who have a large Bio section. We were pretty successful, especially in getting some bottles of Jade gluten-free beer!

After we dumped all the shopping on the barge, we went for a walk down along the canal, and I showed Ian and Flis were we moored last year to watch the July 14 fireworks.

During the afternoon, we continued yacking, then realised it was time for dinner (my, how time flies!). We decided to break out tonight and find somewhere else for dinner, but after walking around town for half an hour and not finding anything suitable, we returned to the Terminus again. The food was good again tonight, and it turned out to be very convenient since it was just a few minutes from the train station. So as Rita’s arrival time approached, I just got up between courses, went and collected Rita and Sarah, and then brought them back to the restaurant for dessert and coffee.
